| Beschreibung | With the Fendt Favorit series, Fendt set a milestone. At that time, 6-cylinder tractors were something completely new. Fendt wanted to keep up with Eicher and Schlüter and eventually launched the Favorit 4S on the market. Favorit 4 S/SA was also the first Fendt tractor with a square hood, as the prototypes of the Favorit 4 with a rounded hood had issues with air intake. The rounded hood, which had previously been known from the Farmer, Favorit, and Fix series, was no longer used in the new Farmer and Favorit model series. From then on, only the square hood was adopted. In addition, the Favorit 4 was already equipped with the innovative Turbomatik – a hydraulic, stepless starting system. With this system, developed in cooperation with Voith, Fendt once again set a benchmark in tractor engineering. The designation S/SA, as was typical for Fendt, indicated the equipment configuration of the tractors: S = Standard (30 km/h high-speed gear and Turbomatik) SA = Standard All-Wheel (30 km/h high-speed gear, Turbomatik, and all-wheel drive) The successors of the 4S/SA included its slightly less powerful sibling, the Favorit 10S/SA, which came with just 80 hp, as well as the larger models: 11S/SA and 12S/SA, which were visually and technically similar to the 4S/SA. In 1972, the Favorit S/SA series was expanded with the 600 series, including the 610 S/SA, 611 S/SA, and 612 S/SA. This series underwent significant improvements over the following two years, and the gap between it and the original Favorit S/SA 6-cylinder models steadily increased. The large Favorit tractors covered a power range from 80 to 120 hp and were equipped with the stepless, hydraulic Turbomatik starting system. |
